A SAD ACCIDENT
On last Wednesday, Mr. Nelson Harrington, who lived a few miles east of this place was in an old house with one of his sons, a boy, shearing sheep. While thus engaged they noticed a rat running around in the upper part of the building. The boy got the gun for the purpose of shooting it, but the rat got out of sight, and then he attempted to climb up into the loft with the gun and in doing so it was accidentally discharged, the ball striking his father in the back part of the head and killing him instantly.
